Next in Media: Vogue's September Issue Revealed; National Geographic Hires Social Media VP

  • The September cover of Vogue has leaked, boasting 584 pages and revealing a gorgeous Charlize Theron in red, "the color" of fall, according to the magazine's coverlines. [NYMag.com/The Cut]
  • National Geographic has hired a vice president of social media, Robert Michael Murray, who had developed emerging technology platforms for Georgetown University and was a former tech liaison for several TV series. [Minonline]
  • In a time when magazines are seeing plunging ad sales, 12 titles are emerging this year as the only publications to attract more ad pages in the first half of 2009 than the same period in 2008.   • At the end of the year, MTV may be vacating its well known Times Square studio, which includes the glass studio that housed daily tapings of Total Request Live for several years.
