New York Women in Communications members and friends met on Dec. 11, 2017, at one of the city's most iconic department stores, Lord & Taylor, for an evening of networking, shopping and festive cocktail fare, including wine and hors d'oeuvres.
The evening featured opportunities for connecting while playing a networking Bingo that encouraged attendees to seek out each other and chat while filling out their cards. Complimentray make-up sessions and a fashion show of evening wear, introduced by Lord & Taylor's personal fashion advisor, was followed by a raffle and goody bags with shopping discounts at the store.
"It was wonderful to see a great crowd encompassing women of all ages and career stages," says NYWICI-member Melissa Weisstuch. "There was a lot of enthusiasm for networking and making connections, and the fun ice breaker exercise really energized that process."
"The networking bingo was effective in making everyone approachable," adds Joann Stanga. "As an introvert, it's usually difficult for me to network — but this event was warm and friendly. I entered an introvert and exited an extrovert — with business cards and coffee dates."
