Swish is a gay-straight alliance that creates opportunities for all women and men to
contribute their time, energy, and talents to furthering the LGBT rights movement.
Swish currently has over 3,000 members worldwide. Its 2011 goal is to increase
membership to 5,000 by December 31st.
Swish is currently seeking applicants for a Digital Media Internship with a minimum
commitment of 6 months to help us reach that goal, and nurture and acknowledge its
current members through organizational communications and social media.
The digital media intern is accountable for:
● managing YouTube, Vimeo and other video-based social media channels
● creating new and organizing archival media
● managing posting of photos and video to social media channels
● editing short fundraising and advocacy videos
● managing video and photography of all organizational events
● recruiting additional volunteer support and acquire necessary equipment, as
dictated by the scope of the event (Swish currently has access to two HD video
cameras.)
Ideal applicants will have experience in still photography (mainly digital), video
production, editing (Final Cut Pro/Avid or experience with other editing software
preferred) and archiving.
This 8-10 hour a month position is not paid, however the intern will be reimbursed for
travel to and from event venues, as well as meals. This internship provides abundant
networking opportunities within the LGBT and non-profit communities. Course credit
is also negotiable, as well as telecommuting. It is ideal for students who are pursuing
careers in social media, film, photography, marketing, or communications.

Good Housekeeping is looking for a Digital Intern for the Spring 2012 semester (January-May/June) to help with social media, the website and more. We need someone who is tech- and internet-savvy, a strong writer, reliable, organized, and eager to learn. During your internship, you will likely have the opportunity to help with social media campaigns for a variety of features in the magazine, assist with mobile app development and video content, and help produce stories for the website. You will also help with story research. The winning candidate must also be willing to perform the small administrative tasks that make a magazine work.
Applicants with magazine/website internship experience or college journalism experience are preferred. You must be able to receive course credit and work at least two days a week in our New York City office.
