The Anita Kaufmann Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in New York. Our mission is to educate the public not to fear people with epilepsy and seizures. Epilepsy affects 3 million Americans and over 50 million people worldwide. We conduct free seizure first aid training sessions in public places throughout the city, administer a groundbreaking fifth grade educational program, and are the U.S. headquarters for Purple Day-- an international epilepsy awareness day held annually on March 26th. Purple is the international color associated with epilepsy.
