2012 Matrix Awards Host: Interpublic Group

In addition to hosting the 2012 Matrix Awards on April 23rd at the Waldorf=Astoria, global marketing communications services company, Interpublic Group (IPG) has funded the New York Women in Communications Foundation/ Interpublic Group scholarship and internship since 2005.

The IPG Scholarship and internship recognizes two ethnically diverse students in their junior year of college who have shown an interest in pursuing a career in advertising or public relations. The recipients receive hands-on experience and kick start their career with a paid internship in New York City during the summer after their junior year. 

IPG is the holding company for a large number of firms focused on communications. Some of the advertising and public relations brands include McCann Worldgroup, Draftfcb, Deutsch, Gotham, Weber Shandwick, and GolinHarris.

In addition to receiving corporate funding, the New York Women in Communications Foundation fundraises throughout the year through events and donations to sponsor the scholarships.
