The NYWICI Foundation is the largest foundation providing communications scholarships for women in the tri-state area.  Last year, we awarded $100,000 in scholarships to 17 high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in communications.

How can you contribute to the NYWICI Foundation’s mission of helping a younger sisterhood successfully enter the world of communications with our financial support, professional guidance and ongoing friendship?

• Spread the word about our scholarships to high school seniors planning communications careers, college or graduate students pursuing communications degrees, and women looking to return to school to pursue advanced degrees in communications.  Send them to our scholarships page.

• Support the NYWICI Foundation Student Career Conference. 
  • Get more information about the conference.  
• Adopt a student: Contribute the admission fee for one or more students.

• Help us fund scholarships by making a contribution.  NYWICI Foundation Scholarships are funded by proceeds from the Gratitude Breakfast, a portion of the proceeds from the Matrix Awards Luncheon, contributions from corporations and private foundations, and members like you.  You can contribute through the Gratitude Fund.

• Post your organization’s internships to our website. 

• Give the gift of membership to a student or young professional. Several generous NYWICI members have provided the young women in their lives with a one-year membership to NYWICI.  It’s a way of thanking those who once helped them and giving back to the profession by helping young women get a solid start on their own careers. Is there a bright young intern you work with, a niece or young friend who is graduating, a promising college student you are mentoring?  Share the benefits of our network of seasoned professionals with her. 

Consider other forms of donation:

• Recognition Donations
  Like the Gratitude Fund, these contributions to the NYWICI Foundation Inc. recognize good deeds, achievements and beyond-the-call dedication in a more formal way.
• Memorial Donation
  Remember a deceased colleague, client or mentor with a memorial donation.
• Donate at Work
  Contact your company's Human Resources Department to explore whether the company offers a corporate matching gift program. The NYWICI Foundation's charitable status may make it eligible for matching funds to your contribution, doubling the size of your gift.
• Naming Opportunities
  To recognize exceptionally generous gifts in a lasting way, the NYWICI Foundation offers the opportunity to associate your name with special events and student scholarships. For more information, contact our Executive Director at (212) 297-2133.
• Bequests
  Include the NYWICI Foundation in your will. A bequest is the most common form of planned gift as it enables individuals to make significant gifts they may not be able to make during life. Effective planning permits you to realize the personal satisfaction that comes from making a bequest gift. Contact your attorney for additional information on how you can remember the NYWICI Foundation in your will.
• In-Kind Gifts
  Contributions of goods and services to the NYWICI Foundation help defray the costs of administrative activities, special events and educational programs. If you are willing to underwrite printing costs or donate prizes for events, media space, advertising dollars or design services, contact our Executive Director at (212) 297-2133.
