As a member of NYWICI, you can support the New York Women in Communications Foundation by serving on one or more of the committees below. You will be lending your expertise to a vital professional organization that fosters communications education and professional development. The Communications Committee works to build the Foundation brand and coordinates the Foundation’s public relations needs with the NYWICI Operating Board’s Integrated Marketing Committee. The Communications Committee also ensures website content is up-to-date and that all Foundation promotional needs are integrated across all possible channels.

The Development Committee directs the overall Foundation fundraising efforts and coordinates fundraising initiatives with the NYWICI Operating Board’s Sponsorship Committee.
The High School Outreach Committee creates relationships with high schools and youth organizations throughout the NY region to increase awareness about scholarship, educational and professional development opportunities for students, in particular economically underserved students, interested in pursuing communications degrees.
The Mentoring Committee coordinates an annual mentoring initiative that pairs seasoned communications professionals with college students or professionals new to the communications industry in a valuable one-on-one experience.
The Scholar Relations Committee maintains relationships with prior scholarship recipients, keeping them connected to the organization through special events and skill-building workshops.
The Scholarship Committee reviews all scholarship applications, meets with leading scholarship candidates and makes final decisions regarding scholarship winners.
The Strategic Alliances Committee establishes and maintains relationships and partnerships with organizations that can support the Foundation and strengthen its efforts.
The Student Affairs Committee plans the fall Student Career Conference, the summer “Ladies Who Laugh” fundraiser, periodic Career Roundtables and Behind-the-Scenes events.
The Young Professionals Committee engages with members of NYWICI who are in their first or second job in the communications industry, creating networking opportunities and events tailored to their specific career needs.
