New York Women in Communications Foundation Mentoring Program

Are You Interested in Changing Someone’s Life?

Do you remember the people who guided you at different points during your career?  Those who taught, encouraged, empowered or inspired you? Of course you do. Those people had an indelible impact on your life and helped you to achieve success in your career.

Please consider giving back to the new generation of young women looking to make their mark on the world. Mentoring a NYWICI student or young professional member is essential to the successful future of the communications industry. These young women are bright, motivated and eager to learn. As a mentor, you have the unique opportunity to provide them with valuable advice and insight based on years of experience.

One of the basic tenants of our incredible organization is that of personal and professional development. The mentorship experience true encapsulates that, challenging each of us to contribute to the future of our field.
For the impact you can have on a young woman’s life, the time commitment for mentors is very low — only hours a month.

Please make the choice to share your time, talent, wisdom and experience with these remarkable young women.

Registration is open until July 15.

Apply to be a mentor today and...

  • Ignite a spark
  • Create a legacy
  • Build your leadership and management skills

Mentors are rewarded by sharing knowledge and skills, helping others succeed, and supporting the communications profession. All you need is a passion and a willingness to spend a few hours per month developing a relationship with a student or young professional NYWICI member. Register now and NYWICI will match you to a mentee based on your personal and professional  profile.
Mentoring requires a willingness to share, listen, and provide advice in a flexible relationship shaped by the needs of the mentee. Mentoring is a way for NYWICI members to improve the communications field, one person at a time. While mentoring programs are designed primarily for the benefit of mentees, mentors enjoy rewards as well. Including:

  • Exposure to the emerging talent pool
  • Ongoing attention to your own career development
  • A way to keep current with the latest trends and technologies
  • The satisfaction of imparting wisdom and experience to others without a huge time commitment
  • Enhancement of coaching, leadership, management, and recruiting skills
  • Exposure to diverse thoughts, styles, personalities, and cultures
  • Opportunities for recruitment to our profession and/or your employment setting
  • A way to give back to NYWICI and your profession
  • A lasting career network
