NYWICI Communications Career Roundtables
The Student Affairs Committee Hosts a Sold-Out Event, Giving
Students Face-Time With Communications Professionals
By Olivia Ner
With a familiar “ding, ding, ding,” 70 people were given the chance to do career speed-dating with two out of nine professionals on February 20 at the lavish Time and Life Conference Center for NYWICI’s annual Communications Career Roundtables.
Many women -- and one man -- aspiring to begin their careers or change their current professional paths
attended this sell-out event. Each attendee
was able to
choose two topics, and sit at a table with an expert to learn about that topic. Getting advice from knowledgeable professionals is one of the fundamental advantages of attending NYWICI events in general, and this year’s roundtables in particular.

Facilitators came from a wide range of backgrounds and experience with advice and honesty to answer inquiries concerning career affirmations, both professional and personal.
They came from diverse media categories and sparked the interest and passion in many: Jes Gordon, owner of jesGORDON/properFUN; Adaora Udoji, previously with ABC News and CNN worldwide and current anchor on Court TV; Janice Fudyma, Creative Director/Partner at Bernhardt Fudyma Design Group; Jacqueline Azria-Palombo, Creative Director at CosmoGIRL!;
Christine Nagy, co-host of 106.7 Light-FM’s morning show and host of “The Magazine Hour” on Martha Stewart Living Radio; Kristen Baldwin, Assistant Managing Editor at Entertainment Weekly, Ronica Harris, producer of New York public fairs on FOX5 and MY9; David Levine, executive producer of “Showbiz Tonight”; Betsy Morgan, Senior Vice President for CBS Digital Media and General Manager of CBSNews.com.
