The NYWICI Mentoring Program is proud to announce its inaugural SPEED MENTORING event 

So what is speed mentoring? 
If you've heard of speed dating-where those looking for the right romantic connection cycle through a series of brief conversations to quickly sort out prospective future romantic interests from potential romantic "duds"-you're on the right track!!

Now think about this: rather than meeting a potential future spouse, you will be meeting experienced communications professionals, who are important connections and valuable sources of information to help you make the most of your career search, or to help you solve a tricky job situation.

Who can participate?
Any NYWICI member in good standing (i.e. 2012 dues paid) is eligible to participate in the program. However, as we want to accommodate as many of our members as possible, preference will be given to those NYWICI members who are NOT current participants in our Mentoring Program. We welcome mentees of any age!

Who will the mentors be? 
Our Speed Mentors will be comprised of members of the NYWICI Operational and Foundation Boards, members of our Coaching and Mentoring Programs and other experienced and accomplished NYWICI members who have agreed to help us with this fun event. How will it work? 
A brief overview of the Speed Mentoring process will be given by the Co-Chairs of our Mentoring Initiative, Beth-Ellen Keyes and Erin Galloway. After the talk, we will split into two groups and start the Speed Mentoring Rounds. Each Speed Mentee will meet one-on-one with at least 10 Speed Mentors for 5 minutes, getting to know each other and discussing your professional strengths and challenges. Bring your elevator pitch and three questions you would like help in answering, and bring your business cards so that you can make them available to our Mentors, as you can exchange these cards before moving on to your next Speed Mentor. 

At the end of 10 rounds of Speed Mentoring, the group will get back together to discuss their impressions of the event, and give us some feedback.
