New Rules of Engagement: Multicultural Initiatives are Leading the Conversation

Multicultural marketing made significant strides in 2011 as brands made it a priority to speak in a relevant way with the segments leading U.S. growth. As the 2010 Census revealed, the surge in Latino population to 50.5 million accounted for almost half the nation’s growth in the last decade. 92% percent of population growth came from ethnic minorities of all types.

At “New Rules of Engagement: How Multicultural Initiatives are Leading the Conversation” on March 6, NYWICI members and their friends learned how leading brand marketers engage with America’s fastest-growing and most influential segments.

Audrey Ponzio, New York Practice Leader of Edelman Multicultural, pictured above, moderated a lively discussion, covering topics such as:

  • Why marketers view multicultural consumers as key to brand health
  • Gaining organizational consensus for multicultural initiatives
  • The critical role of social and mobile
  • How cultural insight shapes communications programs
  • How to define and measure success
