WOMEN WHO CHANGE THE WORLD HONORED BY NEW YORK CITY MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG, ACTRESS MARY TYLER MOORE, AUTHOR TONI MORRISON, VETERAN TALK SHOW HOST CRISTINA SARALEGUI AND OTHERS
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Mary Tyler Moore were among the eight presenters at this year's Matrix Awards, produced by New York Women in Communications, Inc. (NYWICI). The awards recognize exceptional women who have distinguished themselves in the communications fields of advertising, arts & entertainment, books, broadcasting, magazines, newspapers, and public relations. This year there was a special Outstanding Service Communications to New York award, in light of recent events requiring a special attention to citizens within the city.
The 2003 Matrix Awards luncheon, hosted by General Electric and NBC, took place at the Waldorf=Astoria on Monday, April 28. This year's honorees and presenters were as follows:
