NYWICI ANNOUNCES DATE FOR 2003 MATRIX AWARDS
General Electric/NBC to Host Luncheon
New York Women in Communications, Inc. will present The Matrix Awards on Monday, April 28, 2003 from Noon–2:00 p.m. during a luncheon at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York City. General Electric/NBC will serve as host and Beth Comstock, GE's Vice President of Corporate Communications, has been named Luncheon Chair. Comstock also co-chairs the Matrix Committee along with Joannie Danielides, Principal of Danielides Communications, Inc. and President-Elect of New York Women in Communications.
"NYWICI has created in the Matrix Award a unique and prestigious forum to honor the accomplishments of extraordinary women," said Comstock. "A ticket to Matrix guarantees an afternoon of inspiration and admiration. GE and NBC are pleased to offer our support for this important event."
The 2003 Awards Committee is co-chaired by Mary Lou Quinlan, CEO, Just Ask a Woman and Patricia Fili-Krushel, Executive Vice President of Administration, AOL Time Warner Inc. Both women are former Matrix Awards winners.
Since 1970, the Matrix Awards have been presented annually by New York Women in Communications Inc., the city's largest organization of professional women in the communications industry. Each year, women with outstanding career achievements are considered for the Matrix Award in the following categories: Advertising, Arts & Entertainment, Books, Broadcasting, Magazines, New Media, Newspapers and Public Relations. The inspiring women who receive the awards exemplify achievement, professionalism, leadership and creativity.
